‘Hurt Locker,’ ‘Serious Man’ Are Among Gotham Independent Film Award Nominees
The nominees for the 19th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards were announced on Monday by the Independent Filmmaker Project. A total of 23 films were nominated across six categories, including “breakthrough director” and “best film not playing at a theater near you.”
The nominees were announced on UStream TV by A.O. Scott, film critic for The New York Times (The Times is a sponsor of the 2009 awards). The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Nov. 30 at Cipriani Wall Street.
